Hello. First let me state that I'm sorry this recap is so late. Second, happy Leap Day.
Now that I have dispensed with the pleasantries, let me begin my recap of Bleach 50.
This episode largely revolves around a character called Don Kanoji. I really hated this character even
though many others liked him. Now that I think about it, his first appearance wasn't that bad, but this
is where he got more ingratiating to endure. So let's begin.
We start with Yuzu (Ichigo's sister) sewing clothes for the mod soul Kon, who she has named “Bostov.”
Kon's mod soul is inhabiting a lion stuffee.
Anyway, Yuzu has created a sailor fuku. I don't know whether this is because Yuzu is under the impression that Kon is a girl, or if she likes Sailor Moon.
She runs out of thread and goes out to get more. Kon tries to escape, but he discovers she has sewn him to her other toys. I once was babysat at a place where they had a Tigerzord action figure with the robot
mode's head stuck. I tried to get it out, to no avail.
Focus, Steven. You're only 2 minutes in. Anyway, we get our title card for the episode. There's always
something I admire about Bleach title cards. They use such a wide range of art styles, I never know what to expect next.
Kon makes his way out the window; and stumbles upon Don Kanoji. This is going to hurt, isn't it?
Kanoji starts marveling at the fact that Kon is a sentient doll, right up until the point that Karin (Ichigo's other sister) hits him in the head with a soccer ball and tells him to leave the premises of their
clinic.
Anyway, Kanoji states that with Kon, they could protect the peace. Please, you couldn't protect the peace in Care-A-Lot.
He comments on how since his TV show went into the off-season, ratings have gone down considerably. He hopes to do something to bring them back up. Personally, I'd like it if his timeslot
was filled by a superhero show that sells action figures and toy robots; but I can only hope, can't I?
His plan is to gather a team of locals and make a Sentai group to combat the paranormal. (Sentai-Japanese superhero team). At this moment, the group of Himitsu Sentai Goranger appears around him.
Goranger was the very first Sentai.
He continues ranting about the whole thing, whereupon Karin once again asks him to go home. Yes, please.
He starts dancing about the matter, and then falls over; giving us a good look at his groin. You know,
Mr. Kubo, I have a hard enough time dealing with his behavior. I don't need to see his junk.
And to top it off, Kon is now wearing the Sailor Fuku that Yuzu made.

Kanoji then realizes something is odd about a toy acting so strange, and decides to smell it. He notes
that it is not a bad smell. With you around, Don, it is a bad smell, a very bad smell.
He then states he wants to protect justice. Is it a burning justice, Don?
Yuzu then comes up, and Kanoji does not address her by name. You know, if you want to make this
Sentai team, you could at least learn the names of the people you wish to recruit.
Yuzu then gives Kon a rather ridiculous blue suit to wear as part of the Sentai team. Kanoji then
states they need seven members. I think he's out of his mind.
They then go to Urahara's house, and enlist Yinta and Ururu to their Sentai team.
They do all sorts of crazy things to Kon, including filling him with water...
...and make him wear a HUGE dress.

I am also amused at the fact that while it looks like Yinta is wearing a skirt, it's really a pair of red shorts.
Just then, a Hollow shows up that resembles a centipede kidnaps Kon, forcing the rest of the ill-fated
Sentai team to take action.
There is some banter between the two, and for some reason, the Hollow sounds like Him from the
Powerpuff Girls.
After the Hollow labels himself as a “technician”, Kon rationalizes that he is going to be eaten; and imagines going to the afterlife of many women with their breasts. Kon is such a pervert.
Just then, the Sentai team shows up.
Since Yuzu cannot see spirits, she is in for it until Karin arrives.
Then, an argument breaks out that tries to be funny, but is really just irritating. Shut. Up.
A fight ensues involving the Hollow generating a tornado, and the whole thing pretty much turning into the end of The Benny Hill show.
As a brick joke, Karin turns Kon into a ball and uses him to defeat the Hollow.
Finally, it's revealed that Kanoji was recording the whole thing and used it to save the show.
And so, we end on Kon in the Sailor Fuku again. What a load.
Bleach 50 exemplifies exactly what I hate about the Don Kanoji character. He adds absolutely nothing
to the show, is ungodly annoying, and Milhouse Van Houten could beat him up. I apologize again for
the delay in the recap, and I will be more adamant about the next one.
