This morning, an 8-minute Pokémon Direct presentation was streamed and had three major reveals for future installments of the series.
First, the Nintendo Switch will be getting a remastered version of the arcade and Wii U smash hit Pokkén Tournament, known as "Pokkén Tourament DX." In addition to containing refined graphics and gameplay, the game will also contain an assortment of new fighters such as the Pokemon Decidueye. The game will launch on September 22.
Second, the newest games in the mainline Pokemon series will launch on November 17: one year after the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon, the games will see direct sequels in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Moon. While not much is known at this time, the games are confirmed to have a host of new content and expand on the bestselling 3DS games.
Last, but definitely not least is the Virtual Console release of Pokémon Gold and Silver, coming on September 22, almost 17 years after their original release on Game Boy Color. Coming off the success of the eShop release of Pokémon Red, Blue and Yellow; these games should once again provide a way for longtime fans to relieve their favorite past experiences of the games as well as appeal to a new generation of fans.
Even though there are not a whole lot of other details at this time, I will bring you further details as I get them. That will be all for now. See you, space cowboy.
